DESCRIPTION
Now in its 18th year, the Tour
de Poway Fun Ride has become one of North San Diego county's premier
cycling events. This fun cycling event draws participants from all
over Southern California. Several courses are offered with varying
degrees of difficulty designed for all levels of cycling, from beginners
and families, to the experienced. All courses being and end at Old
Poway Park and encompass parts of beautiful San Diego north county
inland.
COURSES
Four road courses provide something
for everybody. The 65
mile metric century,
and the
50-mile course
both begin with a 3 mile, 8% climb, and wind through beautiful San
Diego inland north county, with an exciting descent through avacodo
groves. (recommended for the more experienced and conditioned cyclists)
The 25-mile
course offers something for the more casual rider,
and the 15-mile course,
nicknamed the Poway Loop, is a flat course designed for families
to enjoy.
POST-RIDE
LUNCH
After the ride, enjoy a delicious lunch
in charming Old Poway Park sponsored by SMITHBARNEY
Citigroup. Lunch includes barbaque chicken, salad, beans
and bread- all for only $8. (Served from 11:00 am through 2:30 pm)
START
AND FINISH LOCATION
Poway is called " the city
in the country", located 30 miles north east of downtown San
Diego in beautiful inland north San Diego County. All rides start
and finish at Old Poway Park, 14128
Midland Rd. Take I-15 and exit Poway Rd and go east 4 miles,
then left on Midland. Poway is 25 miles northeast of San Diego,
25 miles east of Oceanside and 6 miles south of Escondido.

Ride start times are as follows:
7:30 AM- 65 mile and the- 50 mile
9:00 AM- 25 mile
10:00 AM- 15 mile
